High School Credit Courses
Guidance for HS Credit Courses taken in Middle School 2026-2027
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for placement in High School Honors Physical Science:
❖ The student must be Proficient or Distinguished on the 6th Grade GA Milestones in
Mathematics.
➢ For students who do not have a 6th Grade GA Milestones assessment, the student must
have a RIT score of 237 or higher (equivalent to the 90th %ile or higher) on the 7th grade
NWEA Math MAP during the November administration.
❖ The student must have an 85% or above average on the first semester Common Interim
Assessments in 7th Grade Science
❖ The student must have a first-semester average of 85% or above in 7th Grade Science and
7th Grade Mathematics.
❖ The student must have a Lexile of 1010 at the November administration.
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for placement in High School Enhanced
Algebra: Concepts & Connections students will not be identified until after the 7th Grade
GMAS Math scores are received in May.
❖ The student must be Proficient or Distinguished on the 6th Grade GA Milestones and
Distinguished on the 7th Grade GA Milestones in Mathematics.
➢ For students who do not have a 7th Grade GA Milestones assessment, the student must
score at 90% or higher on the NWEA Math MAP during the March administration.
❖ The student must have an average of 90% or above on Common Interim Assessments 1-4 in
7th Grade Mathematics.
❖ The student must have an average of 90% or above in the first three marking periods of 7th
Grade Mathematics.
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for placement in High School Spanish I
(this is NOT an honors class and will not receive the honors points):
❖ The student must be Proficient or Distinguished on the 6th Grade GA Milestones in ELA.
➢ Due to the new ELA standards and the new ELA GMAS assessment, for the 26-27 school
year, the student must have a RIT score of 223 or higher (equivalent to the 90th %ile or
higher) on the 7th grade NWEA Reading MAP during the November administration.
❖ The student must have a first-semester average of 88% or above in 7th Grade ELA.
❖ The student must have an 88% or above average on the first semester Common Interim
Assessments in 7th Grade ELA.
❖ The student must have a Lexile of 1010 at the November administration
❖ Foreign Language will be a lottery-based selection for all students who return the signed form
by the designated due date.
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for placement in High School Basic
Agriculture (this is NOT an honors class and will not receive the honors points):
❖ The class will be composed of students interested in continuing with the Agricultural Pathway
in high school.
❖ 50% of the seats in the class will initially be offered to students who meet the following criteria:
➢ The student must have a final average in 6th-grade science of 79 or below.
➢ The student must have a CIA average of 75 or below. (Units 1, 2, and 3 - 7th grade
Science).
➢ The IS or their designee will conference with the parents and students to discuss the
benefits of pursuing the Agricultural Pathway
➢ If the IS does not receive a commitment from the parents and students who meet the
above criteria, the seats may be offered to students who wish to pursue the pathway and
do not meet the criteria.
❖ 50% of the seats in the class will be offered to students who choose to commit to the
Agricultural Pathway in high school.
❖ Both 8th grade agricultural classes will be High School Basic Agriculture.
